Hello Panhandle Educators!
I am so happy to be working with you all in this new endeavor with the state department.
I am Kimmy K. Reddick. I live in Beaver with my husband Ryan and my two children, Sauncy who is 11 and Bella who is 6. Last year we moved from Guymon where I taught on and off over a span of 14 years in grades 1 and 4, then I taught one year in the 3rd – 6th grade Gifted and Talented classroom before our move. Prior to teaching in Guymon I taught for 3 consecutive years in the 1st grade classroom for Hooker ISD.
I have a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma. I received my masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Texas at Arlington in December of 2011. I then went on to become certified in the state of Oklahoma as a Reading Specialist and in ELL in addition to my Elementary Education certification previously held.
I see my role as a REAC3H Instructional Coach as helping each of you in areas that cause you stress. I will research and assist you with any questions you have regarding your instruction and meeting the literacy needs of our students in PK – 3. I will present professional development in areas where there is an identified need and follow-up my presentations with any support needed to ensure success for all school staff. I plan to maintain this blog as an everyday connection to you. It is my intention to post happenings across the panhandle. Posts will include descriptions of situations along with the answers found and supported by research. Hopefully this will allow each of you to utilize others’ situations as a learning tool.
It would help me if you could commit to checking this blog on a regular basis. If a situation is familiar to you and you feel that you can contribute to assisting others please post a response, include a link or site additional research. Together we can make a difference for each other and our children across the panhandle.
